1. If you could host a Reality TV show, which one would it be?
I am not a HUGE fan of reality TV. The one show that I do enjoy watching is The Amazing Race. I love seeing what other countries they visit and would love to be the host so I can travel the world.

2. Do you put your seatbelt on before or after you start the car?
After I start the car.

3. Shave or hair removal cream?

4. What's your favorite feature in a house?
A front porch. There is something charming and cozy about a house with a front porch.

5. What is your favorite "Fall" scent?
I love anything with an apple pie scent or the smell of pumpkin.

6. What tv show are you looking forward to seeing the most this Fall??
I love Grey's Anatomy, Glee and Brothers & Sisters. Couldn't pick just one!

7. Personal Shopper or Personal Chef?
Personal Shopper - I don't mind the cooking as long as I don't have to go to the grocery store!

8. What is the first word that comes to mind when you think of "Fall"?
FOOTBALL!! (Yes, I am one of those crazy Southern girls that schedules her Saturday's around football. ROLL TIDE!)

Etsy - Say Your Piece

I discovered the Etsy shop, Say Your Piece, several months ago and bookmarked it in my favorite shops. I start my Christmas shopping early as we have a large family and budget-wise it is better for me to spread out my spending rather than do it all at once.

For all the women in my family, I ordered these personalized Mini Monogram Bowls. They measure 2.5" in width and are the perfect size to put on a dresser or nightstand and provide the perfect spot to put rings, bracelets and earrings. And the best part - they are only $5. I love finding gifts that are personal and reasonably priced.

Eileen is WONDERFUL to work with and has so many other beautiful pieces in her shop. Go check out the custom ring bearer keepsake bowls, personalized baby keepsake dish, family keepsake bowl and ceramic pendants. If you see something you like but want a different message or image, simply convo her through her Etsy shop and she will work with you to create a piece that is your own.

Getting to know YOU

Joining in on "Getting To Know You" this week...

To play, copy the questions and answer them. Then go visit MannLand5 and link up so other bloggers can visit and "get to know you."

1. What kind of athlete has the hottest body?
I have always loved football players and baseball players. Although with the soccer craze recently, they have good bodies too.

2. Are you a planner or a procrastinator?
Oh I am a planner! I posted one of my to-do lists here in a blog post. I love making lists and keeping myself organized.

3. Diet or regular (soda)?
Regular soda. The diet stuff does nothing for me. If I am going to drink a soda, I want the real thing.

4. What's your one "must have" for Fall?
My number one must have for all is a great pair of boots.

5. What's your favorite fast food restaurant?
Zaxby's - I could eat a house grilled chicken salad with ranch dressing everyday for lunch.

6. What do you think is the sexiest profession for a guy?
Being in the military or construction.

7. Did you wear braces?
I did not have to wear braces. My teeth were very straight, but I did wish one time I had them.

8. Would you rather have a guy that's super sexy or kind?
Super kind.

Sunday Song: I'll Fly Away

In college I was a member of one of the most incredible college band programs in the country - The Jacksonville State University Marching Southerners - a program full of tradition. This week a new group of freshman reported for camp and were welcomed into the family of the Southerners.

One of the traditions was to arc up after a performance and sing the first stanza of "I'll Fly Away." This song was always one of my favorites as a little girl, but now has an even bigger place in my heart because of the people I sang this with after each performance. I got to see a video another alum shot of the first full day of camp with all members attending. It was incredible and brought back so many memories of that first day of camp for me in 1996. It is still emotional to hear this song sung by the members of the band.

So in honor of those I marched with and those who are carrying on the tradition this week on the JSU campus, I chose "I'll Fly Away" as my Sunday Song. Hope you all have a blessed week!

Happy Birthday Mom!

My mom was in town yesterday because my youngest nephew had to have tubes. It was also her birthday so we cooked dinner and had a cake for her at my sister's house.

This pictures cracks me up! Connnor, my four-year old nephew, was playing with his dad's cell phone and called the house phone. My mom answered it and they talked for several minutes before he realized what he had done. This is the moment he realized he was talking to Nana on he phone.

We had spaghetti and garlic bread for dinner. I love watching kids eat this fun, but messy meal.

We got Mom's cake from Edgar's Bakery in Birmingham. So yummy!

Happy Birthday to the best Mom and Nana in the world! We are so blessed to have you in our lives.

First Day of School Emergency Kit

I am so blessed that I get to use my knowledge of development and marketing in the independent private school setting. We have amazing students and an incredible faculty and staff. Our parents support us each and everyday and often surprise us when we least expect it.

I was all over campus on Wednesday, our first day of school. When I finally arrived back in my office I found this cute basket sitting on my desk. Our middle school parent volunteer had put together a "First Day of School Emergency Kit" for the office staff and faculty in our building. What a cute idea!

Here is what was in our "emergency" kit:
Bottled Water
Scotch Tape
Sunflower Seeds
Trail Mix
To-Do List
Post-It Notes
Excedrin Tension Headache
Steno Pad
Jergens Moisturizer
Cracker Jack
Red Pen
Taster's Choice Coffee
Various Teas
