Spring Break: Day Five

Rain, rain, go away... Come again another day! This will be my shoe of chose this morning.

What a yucky, rainy day this has started out to be. I am headed out the door to start my day. I will not be around much this weekend to blog, but will give a full report when I return back home on Monday.

Spring Break: Day Four

I did go to work for a couple of hours today. I had a few things I needed to take care of via e-mail before the weekend.

I am getting my hair cut and colored tomorrow. I waited as long as I could and with the wedding next weekend I have to get it done. I always feel so much better! I am then headed to my parents in Montgomery for a weekend with them, and to host my cousin's bridal shower. Her sister is making the cake and I will be sure to post photos.

I am still not sure if I have a favorite singer this season on AI. After last night, I keep changing my mind. The boys really stepped it up last night. This may be one of the best competitive seasons yet!

Please keep praying for Stellan! Jennifer still needs our prayers as well.

Spring Break: Day Three

So what did I do today? Nothing... absolutely nothing! Have you ever had a day where you woke up and just decided to be lazy? That was me this morning! I read some scriptures that I wrote down a few weeks ago and wanted to spend some time praying over. I also cleared the DVR and caught up on a few of my favorite shows.

I finally got off the couch around 1 pm and headed to Lowe's to buy some new blinds. I needed some for the front window on my townhouse and have not been able to find the right size. They did not have them either. I think I will have to search for the right size online.

Don't forget to stop by the Etsy Easter Extravaganza. There are so many cute things listed and I love Etsy!

It is suppose to rain here in the south for the next four days. We really need the rain, but it is so gloomy outside. I am headed off to bed to listen to the rain falling!

Spring Break: Day Two

I left early this morning to get my spa pedicure. It was a Christmas gift from one of our families at the school, and I have waited to use it until now. The pedicure was wonderful and the technician who did it was great! She shared with me about her faith and it was refreshing to hear from another sister in Christ about how God has used her. I can't believe I am going to post my "piggies" on the internet, but here is a picture of my pretty red toes!

I came home and did a few things around my house before heading out to run errands - the post office, Wal-Mart and OfficeMax. I got my to-do list done just in time to meet my sister and nephew to go shopping.

My cousin is getting married April 4 and I did not have a dress for the bridesmaid luncheon or the rehearsal and dinner. What a great excuse to shop right?!?  We headed to Belk to see if we could find dresses for me since I have been unsuccessful at other stores. I am so excited that I found two dresses and they were both on sale. I tried to find pictures to post in my blog, but neither of the dresses were on the Belk website. I will be sure to post pictures after the wedding weekend though.

Our bridesmaids dresses are by the company B2 and are coral colored. I love this dress and can use it again in the future.

We are wearing bronze colored shoes and I found mine at the Shoe Station.

I think I have all that I need now to travel to Gulf Shores for the wedding. I am so excited to be apart of this special weekend with Michelle and Ross.

I ask that you continue to pray for Stellan. Jennifer wrote a powerful post this morning entitled "To Him Be the Glory." It was refreshing to read the words she wrote during such a time of uncertainty in the life of her family. Thank you Jennifer for sharing the words God placed on your heart!

Spring Break: Day One

I am on Spring Break, but I did "work" about two hours this morning!  I met with a friend whose job is similar to mine and got some work advice from her on some upcoming projects.  It was so nice to spend some time with her and get the boost of confidence I needed that I am headed in the right direction. 

I then headed to Birmingham to the doctor and to visit a dear friend of mine and her babies! Before I went to visit I stopped off at TJ Maxx, and found a few fun Easter items. I also found these Tupelo Honey Flavoring Spoons for my tea. Yummy! I can't wait to try them.

I also stopped by Target to see if they had the curtains I have been looking for to go in my den. The sun sets on the front side of my townhouse and I needed curtains that would help block some of the heat coming in. I did not want to spend a ton for them, so I found some at Target for $9.99 a panel. They are the thermal tux stripe window panel in brown. I will put them up tomorrow and cross my fingers they will be just what I need.

After stopping at Target, I headed to visit with my friend Misty and her sweet girls Madden and Macy Claire. Misty and I grew up in the same church as children and youth, and her our families remain very close to this day. She has always been very special to me! Here I am with Macy Claire on the left and Madden on the right. What precious girls! They have great parents who are raising them to love the Lord!

I am now home after a busy but fulfilling day! Tomorrow I will be enjoying a spa pedicure and some quiet time as I rest and recharge.

The Start of Spring Break...

What a great day! Church was so good. Tonight our church hosted a community outreach event and showed the movie "Fireproof." I kept the 1st-6th graders and served them popcorn and let them watch their own movie.  We popped 18 bags of popcorn for 23 children.  They so enjoyed themselves!

The school I work at is on Spring Break this week! I am so spoiled having this week off, and I am going to enjoy every minute of it. I don't have a lot planned this week for Spring Break. I plan to read a few books, catch up with some friends, go home to visit with my family and host a bridal tea for my cousin who will be getting married in May. 

Tomorrow I have doctor's appointment in Birmingham and will then spend the afternoon with a dear childhood friend of mine and her two little girls - Madden and Macy Claire. I am really looking forward to this visit and can't wait to catch up.

Lazy Saturday!

Today was a pretty lazy Saturday except for a Baby Shower Brunch for my sister, who is expecting her 2nd baby boy in April, and a visit from my grandparents.  

After we attended the brunch and visited with my family, I took a nap - something I rarely do in the afternoons. I am just not a nap taker. But today, I had to! I did not sleep well last night and by 2:00 today, I was going downhill fast. I took a good, sound nap and when I woke up I decided to head to Target and see if I could find a cute pair of black flat shoes to wear with my new gray dress I found the other day for $10.00!  

I was so excited to find these shoes and can't wait to wear them with my dress. I think they are so cute and I was excited to find them in my size. I picked up a few things from the $1 aisle for my nephew's easter basket and then headed home to catch up on the shows I had to DVR this week.

Are any of you fans of "Friday Night Lights?" 

I just recently started watching it. I like the show and think it comes from being in the deep south where football is such a big part of our lives. I as a little girl remember going to Friday night football games for our area high school, even though at the time, we were not enrolled in school. And I remember going to the Blue-Gray football game each year with my dad. It was played in Montgomery on Christmas Day. This was a part of our Christmas tradition!  Crazy huh?

Anyway, I watched "The Biggest Loser", "Dancing with the Stars", "Friday Night Lights", "Ace of Cakes" and "Private Practice."

What a lazy Saturday, but I feel so rested and can't wait for tomorrow! Our church is showing the movie "Fireproof" as a community outreach.  Praying God will touch lives through this ministry.
